Mali is a West African hinge: the Inner Niger Delta, corridors toward Dakar, Abidjan, Conakry and Niamey, a WAEMU regional market. Bamako is not the end of the map; it is a node.
Natural resources
Gold in Kayes and Sikasso, phosphates, lithium under development, hydropower and high-yield solar, the Office du Niger, livestock on the move and settled. The question is no longer only to extract. It is to transform.
A growing market
A young population, Bamako’s urban demand, regional deficits in cement, rice, power, logistics and digital services. Investors do not come for a demographic slogan; they come for measurable gaps in supply.
Investment framework
Mali is a member of OHADA and WAEMU. API-Mali is the facilitation agency. Codes and incentives exist; SELECTMALI files them. It does not varnish them.
Regional market access
WAEMU, ECOWAS (subject to protocols in force), AGOA on the U.S. track. A well-designed Malian project often serves an hinterland, not only a national market.
